Reflection 2
After presenting all of my songs to my project mentor and vocal coach, I’m ready to move into the recording/producing stage of my project. I’ve learned that the equipment I have at home is sufficient enough to record so I don’t have to spend money on a studio. Instead I’ve chosen to invest in a producer. My mentor has given me the contact information for the producer of his latest project. As I am scheduling a time to meet with him, I will be recording my demos in the meantime. In order to move my project along more smoothly, I will be working on communicating more with my mentor and scheduling more frequent meetings. My goal is to have a meeting every week and to communicate the next meeting at the end of our sessions. My second goal is to finish all 3 of my demos by the time I meet with my producer. I feel that I’m doing a good job at reaching out to new people and getting information. I am adapting well to the obstacles in my project such as financing; I will get better use of my money by not going to a recording studio and instead investing in a producer. Currently I need to start recording and figuring out what sound I want for my EP. I also need to start thinking about how long the releasing process will take. My next steps will be setting up meetings with my producer and recording!
